Bimini-mounted or tower-mounted: which do you need?
Malibu owners have two options from Shoreline Brands:
Malibu Bimini Extension
Clamps to your factory bimini frame and extends shade off the back of the bimini. Best if you run your bimini up most of the day.
Wake Boat Universal Bimini Extension
Mounts to your wake tower instead. Best if you want shade without relying on the factory bimini.

How to install it on your Malibu
Installation is tool-free and takes about 10 minutes the first time:
- Open the two clamps and close them around your bimini frame about 6–12 inches forward of the rear edge, brackets pointing back.
- Slide a telescoping pole into each clamp and lock the lever.
- Strap the front edge of the shade around both brackets and center it.
- Extend the poles toward the stern until the shade has an even pitch.
- Loop the rear grommets over the pole ends to tension the shade.

Using it on the water
- Cruising and surf sets: rated to 15 mph, so you can leave it up while you idle, cruise slowly or pull wakesurfers.
- Wakesurfing: run your surf rope beneath the shade.
- Wakeboarding and skiing: take the shade down first.
- At the sandbar: flip it to face forward to shade the bow.

Will it work with my factory Malibu bimini?
Yes. It clamps to the bimini frame, and the poles are longer than the shade so there's no overlap with your bimini canvas.
Can I drive with the shade up?
Yes, up to 15 mph. That rating accounts for typical wind on the lake. Slow down if wind or water conditions pick up.
Can I wakesurf with it up?
Yes. Pass your surf rope beneath the shade. Take it down for wakeboarding or waterskiing.
Do I need to drill into my boat?
No. The Malibu kit clamps onto your existing bimini frame and installs without tools.
How do I store it?
The clamps stay on the bimini frame. The poles collapse to 36" and the shade folds into the included storage bag.
Does it come in other colors?
